Funerals
How do I start planning a church funeral for my loved one?
There is a dedicated page on the Church of England website which contains all you need to know about church funerals. We would suggest you might want to start there.
What do I do next?
You will need to Register the death. You will also need to choose and make contact with a Funeral Director. The Funeral Director will guide you through everything that needs to be considered regarding the funeral.
Can we have a funeral in church?
Yes you can. There are different ways that this can be organised as listed briefly below:
- Funeral service in church followed by burial.
- Funeral service in church followed by cremation.
- Committal at the crematorium followed by a service in church on the same day to celebrate the life of your loved one.
- Committal at the crematorium followed by a service in church on a different day to celebrate the life of your loved one.
Once your details have been passed to us by the Funeral Director, the Vicar will be in touch and will arrange to meet with you to talk through your wishes.
We will be holding you in our prayers.
